Why Change Your Haldex Fluid?
Volkswagens 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive system automatically redirects power to the wheels allowing your vehicle to quickly adapt to road and weather conditions, right when you need it most! This system works seamlessly thanks to VW’s Haldex system, a coupling that operates alongside your rear differential to automatically distribute power to the wheels as needed to maintain traction.
Like any other component in your vehicle, the Haldex Coupling requires routine maintenance that is often overlooked. At first, the additive in the oil could begin to break down, over time causing your 4Motion system to have a delayed response potentially. The Haldex Coupling operates like a hydraulic pump which means dirty oil could overheat the coupling or cause the clutches to burn out, eventually causing the 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive System to fail.
Volkswagen recommends that you have a Haldex Oil Change done every 3 years, and keep in mind, if this scheduled maintenance is not complete, it could lead to your Powertrain Warranty becoming void.
Fluid Change & Mesh Inspection
We give you the option to either change your fluid only or change and inspect the pump mesh filter. Doing the mesh filter inspection insures that your haldex system is running as it is intended to and makes sure the mesh filter is not blocked by debris from a failing system.
